lucky people!!! mine are in their 20's and just a text to say don't cook I'm not coming in would be nice...... I feel like an unpaid maid sometimes!! Then i get moaned at for worrying, but if there was no food around and they came in, they would moan about that too!!..... I think it's an attitude genetically triggered at 18, to make it easier for us to eject them from the nest. Unfortunately with house prices etc, it isn't so easy as it used to be

Our kids are still with us too -- and they will soon be 25 and 27! It's impossible for them to make enough money to live on their own in San Diego. Not to mention it's been really, really hard for them to find any jobs in the first place, much less ones that are worth enough.
The do the dishes, laundry, cleaning and at least some of the cooking. Golden.
I've told them I'd be more than willing to let them leave if they promise to come back and visit. The "visit" part they have down pretty well. It's just the "leaving: part they are having trouble with!

mine too! my youngest aged 20 is the one with the 3 year old. my son is 22 and also lives with me. he comes and goes....mostly only eats and sleeps here. I never know where he is it's hard to get work here too and we are having a recession. My daughter tidies up and does her own washing but my son does nothing really apart from clean his room now and again. I got made redundant from a good job at the beginning of the month and it has been difficult lately. We are getting on each others nerves at the moment. My eldest lives in an overcrowded house with her boyfriends family and is pregnant. I would love there to be more social housing to help young people make a start in life.
